Today in class my group presented. we went over our thoughts on the book. A devoted son is about the relationship between a father and son and examines how time and perspective can change the way actions and intentions are perceived. Varma is proud because his son, Rakesh, is at the top of the academic list in India.

Today in class we did a newsela assignment. This assignment was about 3 year bachelors degree program. I learned that As the cost of college continues to rise, many students are looking for ways to save money on their education. One option that's beginning to gain popularity is the 3-year degree. These programs allow students to earn their bachelor's degree and graduate a full year ahead of time.

Today in class we read The chimney sweeper. The Chimney Sweeper is a poem told from the perspective of a chimney sweep, a young boy living in 1700s London who has to earn a living doing the dangerous work of cleaning soot from people's chimneys. The poem makes no efforts to romanticize this life, portraying it as intensely impoverished and tough.

Today in class we read a poem by william Blake. This poem is part of Blakes Songs of Experience. He uses the child in this poem to express the image of innocence gaining experience. The Chimney Sweeper attacks such subjects as religion, politics, and child labor. It takes after the same titled poem from his Songs of Innocence collection.

Today in class we analyzed 2 poems by William Blake. “The Lamb” is a religious poem that marvels at the wonders of God's creation. In the poem, a child addresses a lamb, wondering how it came to exist, before affirming that all existence comes from God. In the humble, gentle figure of the lamb, the speaker sees the beautiful evidence of God's work. The tyger poem consists entirely of questions about the nature of God and creation, particularly whether the same God that created vulnerable beings like the lamb could also have made the fearsome tiger. The tiger becomes a symbol for one of religion's most difficult questions.

Today in class we did a poem. This poem was called A Poison tree by William Blake. It describes the narrator's repressed feelings of anger towards an individual, emotions which eventually lead to murder. The poem explores themes of indignation, revenge, and more generally the fallen state of mankind. School is going great.
